Crafted with solid mahogany back and sides and a torrefied Sitka spruce top, this Grand Pacific dreadnought produces a mature, broken-in sound right out of the case. The slightly deeper, round-shoulder body shape adds powerful low-end presence, while the slender, satin-finish Taylor neck ensures effortless playability. Inside, V-Class bracing enhances volume, sustain, and intonation across the entire fretboard, supported by Taylor’s patented Action Control Neck joint for greater resonance and precise adjustability.
The 517e also showcases the refined details of the Gold Label Collection: a modified headstock with angled back cut and script-style Taylor logo inlay, a distinct firestripe pickguard, and elegant appointments like a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge, Indian rosewood bridge pins, cream Crest inlays, and cream binding with matching rosette.
